Controller guides for every platform
The right pad for the games you play.
Buying guides for game controllers, pro pads and fight sticks, built around what decides a purchase: your platform, your games and how long the sticks will last.
By the Controller Gear HQ Team
A controller is where every game happens, and a drifting stick can ruin a favourite one. Controller Gear HQ is built for players on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and smart TVs, and for the questions that decide a purchase: will it work with my platform, will the sticks drift, and is the pro pad worth it over the standard one.
What we cover
Pro and standard pads
PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC
Hall-effect and anti-drift sticks
Fight sticks and arcade controls
Charging docks and accessories
Where our controller advice comes from
Each guide starts from the paper trail: spec sheets, manuals and support pages from the manufacturer. Then come the player communities, because that is where stick drift and other long-term faults surface. If a guide draws on our own time with a controller, it tells you so in plain words.
Every pick says who should pass on it.
Next to each recommendation sits the kind of player it does not suit, with the reason spelled out.
Why you won't find a score here.
Prices change by the day and a single score buries the trade-off that matters for your games, so every product link opens the live listing.
Backed by players, not by brands
Controller Gear HQ runs on reader support. Pick up a pad through one of our links and we may earn a commission, while the price you pay stays the same. No brand can buy its way into a guide or a recommendation, and if a manufacturer ever ships us a controller, the review will say so. See the full affiliate disclosure.

Spot a stale spec or a dead link?
Pads get hardware revisions, a firmware update can change how a controller behaves, and store listings get swapped out. If one of our guides has a spec, a platform-compatibility note or a link wrong, drop us a message and we will check it and correct the page.
